Do you ask your partner if they are tested for STD?

Question

If you're going to have sex with someone, whether a one night stand or a new partner do you ask them whether they are tested for STDs?

My husband, when we first met. He had no clue his ex cheated on him. We didn't find out he had been given chlamydia UNTIL I got pregnant. 
We started dating June 4th 2017, in the moment, shit got heated and we had sex. 
I was engaged December 1st, 2017 (knew each other off an don for four years prior) 
I got pregnant right after! 
Got married June 9th, 2018 by the way. 
But test came back I had chlamydia. And I was like. "Oh whatever, I'm not mad, not angry. It's curable." I told my husband (fiancé at the time) 
He was mind fucking blown. He was so upset, in tears. Felt gross. And I said "baby it's curable. We are ok!"
 Finally he calmed down and relaxed. We got our meds and everything and now we are 100% free of everything! 
Thank god it was curable. 
Ps: We had NO symptoms of it at all. So assuming someone doesn't have one because you don't see anything out of the ordinary. Its not ok.  Don't assume.

Now I do, before it was not a common practice of mine. 
I will bet money on the majority of women who voted yes, are lying.
