What is a work wife/husband and would you be comfortable with you spouse having one?

Just curious on what others consider a work spouse and their thoughts on it

In my experience a work wife/husband is just someone you work closely with and they tend to help keep you on track. For example, my work husband is a veterinary technician that helps keep me on time to my appointments, reminds me about charting and remembers a bunch of details from appointments for me. He's awesome, but I'd never do anything with him (he's also very gay so that wouldn't work).
My boyfriend has a work wife. She's the secretary for him and a couple other guys on his floor. She keeps them all organised and in line. She makes sure things are filed on time, they call people back, get to meeting, etc. My boyfriend doesn't want her in the way he wants me at all. She's just someone who saves his butt and nags him at work.

Depends on what kind of work spouse you mean. As in I know where my mom works her position is right under the head bosses and he says she’s like his work wife because she tells him when he’s wrong and nags him until he does it, etc and his wife and my mom are friends and laugh about it. Just depends the situation

It’s someone up you spend a lot of time with, rely on, gossip with at work that tends to be talked about at home as well. No, I wouldn’t want one because that sorta shit breeds insecurity and complicated situations. I prefer a comfortable distance and a professional relationship with all my coworkers.

Lol- I had a work husband... he was about 20-30 years older than my husband and I, we shared a last name, and he was a really nice person. I call some girl my husband works with, his work wife, because she is very annoying to him... lol yes, it’s like a joke, it’s not a big deal though...
