What do you think of mothers who smoke while pregnant?

My sister in law and I were pregnant at the same time (I was due in May and she was due in July). I stayed healthy during my pregnancy but lost our twins at 20 weeks. She smoked her entire pregnancy and still had a healthy baby girl. I’m not a judgmental person but that really bothered me and was hard for me to accept. It especially made me crazy when she was still pregnant but I had lost my twins and I saw her smoking.

If they can’t quit smoking for the benefit of their unborn child’s health, there’s something seriously wrong. If you choose to smoke and destroy your own body then go for it, but don’t subject an innocent baby to a life of health issues. 
*Coming from a woman who’s mother smoked her entire pregnancy and has grown up with health problems*

if you're tryin to quit and you have cut down, I think it's still gross, but at least they are cutting back. I made a mommy friend the other week and she and her bf were smoking non stop to a point where I almost puked. I just don't get how someone could not cut back if not stop all together

I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt. I ask myself, maybe they’re quitting, maybe having a rough go in their personal lives... etc. but I was an occasional smoker prior to baby. By occasional I would have one when I got home from work and sometimes if I’d been drinking. So I didn’t really consider myself an avid smoker but the moment I got pregnant it was no more for me and haven’t felt the need to since! 
That being said, it’s hard for me NOT to pass judgment on a woman who is publicly smoking, basically not giving a shit. That says to me “I don’t care what you all think of me and I have no remorse.” 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😔

I don’t agree with it but the alternatives to its their choice and it’s fine were a bit extreme in my opinion lol

Each to there own, but I wouldn’t make that decision for my kid 😊
