For those who are married with children. Did having a baby change your relationship?

Having a child changes everything... But do you feel like your relationship went from at 10-9-8 to a 2 or 3? Just curious

For me and my husband it took a year for our relationship to go back to normal. For one having a new baby is hard, plus there were our work schedules. He worked thirds and I stayed home that first year. But it does get easier once you find your new normal. Also don’t be afraid to talk to him about how your feeling. Talking helps and I always suggest couples counseling too.

Apparently reading these comments, I’m in the minority. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Our relationship is definitely tougher now than it was prior to having my son. He just turned six months old and he has NOT been an easy baby. Raising him has been the toughest thing we’ve ever had to do, and it honestly has taken a toll on our relationship. A serious one. 
Not just that, but we don’t have any time to ourselves to just reconnect as a couple. That makes it really hard to get out of the rut that those first few months put us in. 
If I was ranking, I’d say we were an 8 or 9 prior to having him. I’d say we’re probably a 5 now. But we’re working on getting back to where we used to be! It just takes a lot more effort now.

The first 3 months were hard. But now I feel like our marriage that was wonderful before having our baby, is now complete. We are a whole family. Going from husband and wife to mom and dad is not an easy transistion, but if you are open to and expectant of change, it can be amazing. I say the first 3 months were hard because as new parents we were both trying to figure out our roles, and watch what was, fade away as we began to accept our new reality. Seeing my husband as a father is the best thing in the world.

Those first 3 months or so are hard. The key is finding balance and making time for your relationship. Find time to still have sex, go out for dinner and a movie or do something fun. You have to still date each other. Becoming parents is a whole new challenge but it’s worth it

My relationship changed but I don’t think I get worse just changed. We have the bonding over our lo. With is great. It takes so time to learn how to fit a baby in I think

We’re not married but have been together for 8 years with 3 Kids. If anything Kids made us stronger but we both parent the same so there is no arguments

Our relationship was good before. Now it is great. Seeing him with our daughter and wondering how he will be with a son is the sweetest and a huge turn on and he feels the same about me as a mom.

I think it really depends ! if a couple has poor communication , team effort , respect etc etc before children then I assume its just going to get worse after children.
