Ex wants his stuff back?

My ex of 9 years cheated on me and HE decided to end things. He moved to his moms house a year ago last April. He left a lot of his things here. Mower, dishwasher, fridge, his dog, smoke detectors 🙄 and a bunch of junk that should be thrown etc... now after over a year, he wants them back. I know it was nice of him to leave them when he left but honestly he had no place to put them otherwise he would of taken thenZ I can not afford to buy any of those things since I have a house payment and other bills when he has been living for free at his moms the past year. Now he’s threatening to call the cops to come get it. Do I legally have to give them back? We are not and never have been married. Never signed any agreement and he’s been gone a year and few months
