Abnormal cells on pap?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive 4 months. Yesterday i got a pap smear and my doctors office just called to say i have abnormal cells on my cervix and need a follow up. I am so scared ladies. There is no history of reproductive cancers in my family. Does this mean ill never be a mommy now? I cant stop crying. Does anyone have advice or similar experience please comment

I currently have abnormal cells on my cervix. Been going to the doctor now for over 3 years and getting papa done every 6 months with a colposcopy and a biopsy. We haven’t decided about the keep procedure yet. But I have strain 18 which is pre cancerous but they want my body to try and fight t off by itself first. The keep is the last resort and depending on how severe it is every time I get the procedure done. Right now I’m at a grade 1 and last time I had it done I was a grade 2. So it’s a little better. It will all be ok! I promise. It has not affected my fertility at all! I didn’t even know I had it until I had my pap done when I was pregnant with my last child over 3 years ago.

No not atall I had sever dysphasia that’s pre cancerous cells they come in stages low medium and Hugh whatever happens you will get a colposcopy and then they will do a leep procedure to remove the cells it may not even be ore cancerous that’s just what I had best to get it sorted though Xx

I had abnormal cells on my cervix several years ago. It depends on what the cells are and what they suggest is the best treatment for them. For me I was 26, the cells were nonmalignant non benign. They had to perform a minor invasive procedure called a leap procedure. This is where they go in and remove the cells and cauterize the area. I would imagine this will not have an impact on your actual fertility if this is the route your doctor wants to go. I will say that it was not a fun procedure and it does take time for the cervix to heal itself. It took a few months for me to feel 100% “normal” down there. I’ve worried about it constantly but my doctor has told me that this in no way will impact my ability to get pregnant because they took away such a thin layer from the cervix, knowing how young I was, and my desire to have kids. We are now trying to get pregnant 3 years later and the only thing concerning is that sometimes there can be a build up of scar tissue that can make it difficult to push the baby out. My doctor says I don’t really have a choice but to get an epidural because that will help the tissue break up with me being more relaxed.

I have had abnormal cells on my pap since I was about 17. Did they call them ASCUS cells? I had to be checked twice a year instead of once and I kept getting abnormal cells. Then they started doing Colposcopys which is basically an in depth biopsy of the cervix cells. They give you several options depending on the results, like a LEEP. I was told I may have some issues getting pregnant, but lo and behold I am currently 29 weeks! Good luck! And stay positive!!
