Sleeping Baby

Ni

I am losing my wits. I have read article after article about what to do and what not to do to prevent SIDS/Suffocation. My baby whom up to this point has slept in a Halo swaddle since infancy. In a Babyletto mini crib. No bumpers, no blankets, just her bare mattress as recommended. With an Owelet and baby monitor every nap, day and night. Now at almost 15 weeks, she has began to roll over on her side and has managed to turn herself on her stomach pinning herself against the rail and mattress. She also doesn’t know how to turn her head to the side when this happens so she just smooshes her face flat on the mattress and cries. We came to terms with the fact that now she needs to move onto a sleep sack with her arms out. Having done that, she still gets stuck on her belly. Also gets her legs caught between the rails. So at first I thought we could get a DocATot and try to keep her upright while sleeping in her sleep sack. But you can’t leave them unsupervised in it at night because of the suffocation risk. So then I thought breathable mesh bumpers. Great. Then I read articles that strongly suggest not to use them because the baby runs the risk of entanglement and suffocation. Then the other concern, do I keep her sleeping in her mini crib or put her in her regular crib in her nursery. She sleeps better there but then SIDS prevention recommendations are that babies sleep in the same room as parents until 6 months. Can I just say... WTF. What the hell is a parent supposed to do, when all you want to do is keep your baby safe but encourage sleep. Any advice?

Update: So I caved and bought my 4 month/12Lbs baby a Halo Bassinet. I wish I had it from the start. This helped tremendously because now when she rolls and turns over I don’t need to worry she’ll get hurt on the rails. She can breath just fine through the mesh and I help her back on her back. When she gets too big for it or starts getting on her knees I plan to move her to the 4 moms play yard for sleeping. Until she has better control and can handle her crib. For now this serves as a far safer option and provides some peace of mind. We’ve also upped her tummy time and are working on going from tummy to back.
