When my friend was pregnant with her daughter they told her there was a 99% chance her daughter had downs. She kept her. She was born and didn't have downs. A girl I worked with had the same thing happen. She cried her entire pregnancy worried sick about how she would take care of a special needs baby. And....baby was born without it.

Mine were wildly different, for my first it was 1/23000 this time it’s 1/16500 I’m 29. It’s based on the risk for your age weight and the measurements they take during the scan and from your blood test.

With my youngest my results after 12wk scan was 1.64 for downs I was 25 at the time. We paid for harmony test and there was no issue with our baby thankfully. This time around being 28 I had 1.5237 and not classed as high risk.

When they do your testing. You will get two results. One number will be your expect3d risk based on age, weight etc. The other will be your actual risk based on your blood test results and baby's fluid measurements .
