Do you pull to the side of the road for a funeral precession?
My husbands family from the north came to visit, and as we were going to lunch today we passed a funeral precession. I pulled over to the shoulder, along with the other cars around me, and waited for the funeral line to pass. My husbands family said they didn’t practice this at home (Ohio) and I was wondering if this is a known custom around the country/world, or if it’s limited to certain areas?
Of course, I only pull over if it looks safe, and I always check before I get back onto the road.
I pull over out of respect for the deceased/their family and friends, as that’s what my mom did, and my moms mom, and so forth.
