Does anyone know how an induction is done and what to expect from it?

Sense I'm being induced tomorrow morning at 1am, I have never been induced and I have no clue how it's done or what to expect from having it done. has anyone else been through an induction before and what happened? this is my first induction n I'm getting more nervous about it. what should I expect to happen while having an induction and does anyone have any advice for me due to this being my first induction?

My boyfriend n I got here before 1am like they told us but they didn't start doing anything until 3am. they inserted a pill 2x so far into my cervix n my contractions are about 5 minutes apart lasting about 3 minutes in lenght. Doc said that once I hit 2cm he's breaking my water n starting pictocine

I just recently had an induction. Lots of doctors will start u with pitocin but mine started me with a pill called cytotec. He put the pill up by my cervex twice (i was 1cm dialated and 5 days over my due date.) and with the pill I wasn’t allowed to get up for 2 hours or pee for 2 hours cause I had to let it dissolve. And with the pitocin u are bed ridden u are not allowed to get up no matter what even to pee. But my doctor was nice enough to make an exception to let me get up a few times to pee before my water broke. After that I had to pee in a bed pan and later on have a catheter put in when I wasn’t able to pee in the bed pan.

I was induced with cervidil at first to soften my cervix, went home and cane back the next day to start pitocin. I had an iv with pitocin that was upped every 30 minutes. I on the other hand was not bed ridden. I was able to walk around my room and pee whenever I wanted until I got my epidural. I had a five hour labour and ten minutes of pushing. All and all was a good experience

All that ever do with my inductions is break my water that's it. I've had pitocin during my natural labor with my first child only to speed things up. Never during my inductions.

It was a long process for me and I hope yours is quicker. I went in at 8:30 pm on a Friday.   Started with cytotec then after 4 hours, started on Pitocin. My little man didn’t make his entrance until 2:00 a.m Sunday morning!

I got induced earlier this month with cervidil. It was inserted onto my cervix to produce a hormone to start contractions. If that didn't get things progressed enough, they were going to break my waters the following morning and then use the drip if that didn't work as well. Luckily the cervidil was all I needed and had a natural and fast delivery 😊

There are a few different ways they can induce you that I know of, I’m sure there are more. Insert a pill into your vagina to soften the cervix and start contractions. They can add a catheter with a balloon (foley bulb? I think it’s called) to open the cervix more. Rupture your amniotic sac. Or use IV drugs like Pitocin to start contractions. 
My forebag of water broke with my daughter and I didn’t dilate after so many hours. They gave me Pitocin and I still wasn’t really dilating. The doctor broke my water and I still didn’t dilate. 24 hours later from the beginning of my water breaking I had to have a c-section because my daughter was beginning to be in distress. All of the nurses were really great and explained everything to me. You might be so excited at the thought to meet your little one tomorrow, that excitement will win over nerves. Just ask a lot of questions. I more than likely will have to have a c-section next week for this baby since I had a previous c-section and it’s not recommended to do a lot of The inducing techniques. I know what to expect but I’m starting to get a little nervous too. Good luck!
