If you rent / own a house, where do you live?

Currently, we live in one of the most expensive areas in the country. Cost of living is higher than anywhere else and rent / housing is ASTRONOMICAL.

We currently live in an affordable housing unit, which is privately owned and quite beautiful for $1550 a month but once your income goes above a certain number, you are no longer qualified to stay.

My husband and I would love a house when we move out of here, and we are open to anywhere in the country:
