So I’m 33weeks and I had to change my OB office after my 3rd month because they closed down. I ended up finding a place I really like not that far from me and of course there are two doctors and a midwife who I see at this current place. My main OB tho is kind of rude.. I like the nurses and the facility and every thing else but this particular doctor dismisses anything I tell him is wrong. I am a first time mom and I’m sure I over react about things , but he doesn’t even check on my complaints just always says something along the lines of “well you are pregnant.” Like I know this, I know I am pregnant that is why I am talking to you about this. He never includes my SO in anything completely ignores him at every appointment. And friends whom have went to the same guy tells me awful stories about him.. he told one girl in the middle of labour to “shut the fuck up and push” because she was yelling from the pain. Anyways I recently was also told he is prejudice// racist and my SO in black. He’s never made any snide remarks or anything but I did notice that all the baby pictures he has on his wall are ALL white... I’m not sure tbh but the other OB in the same facility and the midwife although I haven’t seen them as much seem so much better.. they include my SO they don’t dismiss me and I’ve not heard anything bad about either of them.., I know that it’s usually whoever is available whenever you go into labour but my question is would I be able to ask for the other doctor or the midwife even if he’s the one on call or whatever and that he is technically my OB? How do I go about this ?
