Post sex cramps ?

So me and my boyfriend had sex last night , but today I got my period and have had the most unbearable cramps I think I’ve ever had. On my period I rarely if ever get cramps just some back pain. So I was wondering if having sex can cause cramps to be stronger

(P.S it was my first time, I don’t know if that has anything to do with it)
