Is your baby still feeding overnight?

Question

I’ve read that 8 month olds don’t require feeding overnight if they are eating/drinking enough during the day. So in theory they should be able to sleep through the night! I’m trying to break the habit, but my baby doesn’t sleep through & sometimes is genuinely hungry still....

I’m sorry but you didn’t have the option of Yes-20+ times 😂 my daughter wakes up so much through the night and comfort nurses. We’re up about every 1.5-2hours and she’s 8 months old 😩

I look at it as my lo may not need to eat but she might need the comfort. I’m of the thought that my lo will sleep through the night when she’s ready. It’s my first kid so we’ll see if I’m right or not but trying to trust my mommy gut on this one. And she usually only gets up once or twice a night. If it was more frequent I might be considering other options.

Our baby cut down to one feeding a night at five weeks old, and then slowly they got later and later until she could clearly go all night without... around 5.5 months. After that she would sometimes wake up at night but I no longer offered to nurse. She was usually easily comforted by her pacifier. Once we moved her to her own room at 7 months she quickly began sleeping through the night on her own, because it’s across the house and by the time we’d get to room to comfort her, she’d have fallen back asleep on her own most of the time. Now (8.5 months)she eats at 7pm and then goes to bed between 7:30 and 8 and typically wakes up at 6:30 and eats again by 7am, so she pretty much goes 11-12 hours at night without food/drink. We did start formula feeding at 6.5 months but it really didn’t make much of a difference since she was already going 11-12 hours before we transitioned.

Mine doesn't eat overnight anymore. He's in bed from ten pm to ten am and can go without eating the whole time.

Speak with your pediatrician regarding it. I didn't cut out the nighttime feeds for either child until he gave me the ok based off their weight and they were already sleeping through the night most of the week. 👍

We’ve only recently just managed to get our 8 month old to sleep through. I started nursing him more, he also has a 4/5oz bottle of breast milk in his cot before going to sleep and it’s really really helped! 
Nurse anytime between 8:15-9:15, then 11/11:30, lunch 12:30/1, nurse again, 2:30/3, nurse again 4/5 then dinner, then 5oz bottle at 8.

We weren't able to get through a whole night until we started supplementing with formula. Started supplementing one week before she was 8 months old. it's really helpful to start getting in more sleep again :)
