Do you feel selective about “who” in your family can be trusted to watch your baby?

This may sound like a bummer, but I don’t want my father in law watching my 2 year old. He has this “ahhh, it won’t kill him” mentality. Like, “I never wore a seatbelt and I’m alive” kind of view of parenting. “Toughen ‘em up”. I’ve had to explain why he couldn’t have grapes when my son was just 8 months old, I’ve had to interfere when he let him lean over to play in deep and dirty pond water, I’ve had to explain why he can play outside by the fire pit alone..... like....(?) 
By no means am I a helicopter parent, germ-o-phobe, whatever. But I don’t trust his judgement, and I am 99% sure he wouldn’t know what to do if a crisis occurred. And let’s be real: keeping a baby/toddler alive and well is a full time job, and you only get ONE chance if doing it the right way.
So, yeah. I’m selective as f*#%! Selective with everyone- family included.

As far as my immediate family - parents, brothers, sister - I’d let any of them watch my children. 2 our of 3 siblings already have young children and my parents are awesome. On my Husband’s side, I am reluctant to let my in-laws babysit after some shady nonsense they pulled when my son was really little. One of his sisters hates us for some odd reason, and although she has children, I wouldn’t let her watch mine. His other sister is super sweet, and I have no problem with her watching my kids. Trust your instincts. You usually know if you can trust people or not.

um yes and I am not afraid to let it be known. most of my in-laws wont even be involved bc I dont want them to be.

My mom wants to help, but I'm reluctant to let her because her husband needs a lot of medical attention. He is in Oxygen, has a Trac, a feeding tube, needs help walking even with a walker, not to mention the med. every few hours. I feel like adding a baby to that mix would be way too much. My brother is in an alcoholic so he is never to be alone with my baby. I have an 8 year, and he has never been alone with him either. It kinda sucks. I wish I could have my family help more, but I am lucky all of my in laws are wonderful and I would very comfortable with any of them watching.

My parents and my sister, that’s about it. I’m very close to some of my girl cousins and have really good friends. But only people I trust are the ones mentioned above. My in laws are great but they are a good 20 years older than my parents and I’m not a fan of how they treat their other grandchildren, basically let them do anything so it’s not about trust in their case but more about the fact that they are not up to put any kind or resistance or discipline, same goes for my sisters in law.

yes i refuse to let my mother watch my daughter my whole life she has emotionally and physically abused me(i forgive her cuz shes my mom)...although shes "changed" ive seen how she is with other people's children when she thinks no one is paying attention telling them "your mom loves ur sibling more than you" "this is why no one likes you" or trying to hold things over their head like "if you dont smile you can never get in my car again"  i refuse to have her alone around my child especially since even now just being pregnant she tries to control everything. who can hold the baby,colors the baby can wear ect, sojust for less drama she wont be around much ♀‍💁🏽

Not in my family but my in laws yes they never respected or stuck by anything I had set out for my son and still even now when they have him it infuriates me. Thankfully my son starts primary school in September so they won’t have him anymore and baby girl will be looked after by my mum when I go back to work next April xxx

The only people allowed to watch him while under the age of 5  aside from his own father of course are my mom and my cousin. 
I don't trust anyone and I will most likely always have him with me. 
I have this fear that he will be molested or abused by other people because I was. :(

My “FIL” has rape on his record from a 16 yo girl when he was 24 😒 on top of that he called me a fat bitch and said there was nothing little about me at 7 months 😂
