Hospital bag ??

What really needs to go in it ??  And how far along to be to have it ready ?

I have packed 2 hospital bags and found I didn't use any of the 500 things recommended.
i pack:
2 pairs of comfy clothes for me/slippers
1 going home outfit for baby (and socks)
toiletries 
breast pads 
charger 
My husband will pack some clothes and things for him also.
My hospital has 24/7 snacks and drinks and provide those life saving panties/pads or anything you need (tucks pads, ice packs etc.)
I breast feed but just ask for extra pillows bc I don't want my husband unloading several bags when we get home lol

There’s loads of helpful lists on Pinterest which I’ve used to compile my own appropriate for me.
It honestly depends on how birth goes and what  kind of person you are.
Some women take make up and hair products and buy special robes etc.
But honestly, take what you think you might use/need ... if you don’t use it, lesson learned ☺️ better than wishing you had something you didn’t pack right?

I packed way too much my first time... All I used was my night gown after baby was here, snacks, chargers/phone/ipad, going home outfit for both of us, and toiletries. I got it ready at around 36 weeks.

I packed a pair of flip-flops for the hospital shower and the floor. I know it's a hospital so it's clean but I think it's gross to walk around in a bathroom in my bare feet.

For us we wont need to pack a lot as the hospital is 5 minutes away from where we live so if we truly forget something hubby can run home. So we wont really pack anything for hubby because he can go home if need be. Just both phone chargers, some snacks for us. Depending what your hospital provides will also help guide you ours doesn't provide anything so we need diapers, wipes, baby blanket (as October might be cool out), coconut oil, some facial wipes (for mom), easy and comfy going home outfit, I'll bring some breastpads just incase, tucks, socks, hair ties. Baby hat as well, a few sleepers and onesies. It might help to bring a folder to keep important information. I was thinking around 35-36 weeks to have it ready just in case of going early.
