How much white is acceptable to wear to a wedding?

My brother in law is getting married and I’ve been trying so hard to find a pink shirt to match a floral maxi skirt I got. I think it would be so much easier to find a white shirt to go with it but I’m afraid to wear white. When I got married, I personally wouldn’t have cared if anyone else wore white as long as it was not a dress.
 
So how much white would you think  is appropriate? Does it depend on the bride?

If its floral skirt, there should be multiple colors to choose from. Its common etiquette to not wear white.  If you're doubting,  dont do it.

I think it looks bad when the top is white because that’s all you can see when you’re sitting down. I wouldn’t do it.

Ladies, the only white you should be wearing is your smile.

I also wouldn’t ask the bride how she feels! I remember planning my wedding and I was stressed to the max! This is her day, just wear something else.

Pretty sure there’s pink shirts at Walmart and target for very cheap. I don’t think you should wear white at all.

Definitely don’t wear a white shirt. If the maxi skirt is a white background, I wouldn’t even wear that.

You may have been ok with people wearing white at your wedding but this isn’t your wedding. 
Honestly, look online for shirts that match and if you can’t find any, maybe find something else to wear. Or unless pink is the only color that matches I’m sure you can wear a different color besides pink or white.

Depends on the bride. Ask her how she feels. I personally would be too busy enjoying my day to care what other people were wearing!

If you are in doubt then it is probably not a good choice. I would try to find something else. You will likely be in photos and the less conflicted you feel about your outfit the better.
Also, I see a lot of people on here saying to ask the bride.... eh, no, don’t do that. She has enough to worry about and if she is a kind person she probably just say she doesn’t care/mind, but if you are second guessing it enough to make a post about it, just handle it in your own. Don’t make a bride make another decision or feel put in the spot when it is your issue and not really hers.
