It just depends honestly. You hcg levels could be very low or high. With my first daughter I didn’t show positive until a week after my period and I was 5 weeks along. My second daughter I got a blaring positive a week before my period was even due and I was only 3 weeks.

Depends on you’re cycle really! Women with shorter cycles usually have to wait longer to test than those with longer cycles! This is due to the length of time between periods because ovulation varies!

I have 33-35 day cycles, and I have no idea how many DPO I was, but I was 4-6 days away from my period and my test looked like this.

With my first baby, though, I got a negative at 9 days LATE. Didn’t get a positive until almost 3 weeks late. So you can test if you want too. But don’t let yourself get too hopeful, and don’t get discouraged if it ends up negative. You aren’t out until your period shows up.
