college; PSW program or public relations?
I've been offered admission for my two top choices for college, but am having a hard time deciding between the two. the first one is a PSW program. Aka Personal support worker, very similar to the American version of a CNA. only in Canada psw's are not regulated & perform basic health & wellness care for mostly the elderly or disabled. there's plenty of jobs, but the work can be grueling & unpleasant with not much better pay. But my plan would be to take that 1 year course to start working in the medical field to gain experience, & then go on to bridge into the practical nursing program (2year program) & I'll graduate & be an RPN with healthcare experience already under my belt. the other offer is for public relations which involved media, fundraising, interpersonal relationships, ect... which is a 3 year program & can be useful in any field & relate to many job prospects. I also have to work full time while going to school. My biggest worry is if I take the PSW program but can't get into the nursing one since it is so competitive. what advice do you habe? Which one do you feel provides the most benefit? id like to get other opinions to help me think of both programs from other perspectives.
