Don’t judge
So I’ve been dealing with very heavy periods since the age of 11. It’s a pain to deal with. I’m 23 now. My last period was absolutely horrible with leaks. I won’t go into great detail, but I leaked on the sofa and in my bed.
I was so frustrated and embarrassed over this so I was thinking & I decided that I’m going to try an adult diaper for my next period to see how it works overnight. I went online and ordered a sample and it came in today. Just in time, my period is due in 4 days.
I hope this works out. Does anyone else have extremely heavy periods? Has anyone else tried a diaper? I saw on Quora that a woman tried it and she said that it was really comfortable.
Just a smaller FYI: I have been to an obgyn & been checked and everything. There’s no underlying cause for my heavy periods, but there is a family history of them. I can’t take birth control & I do take medicine for my heavy periods to lighten the flow, but I cannot always afford the prescription so I go without taking it/ration my supply sometimes.
Edit: To the people wondering who I can’t take birth control it’s because I would most likely have serious medical issues and die. My aunts have taken it (different forms) and the died from the side effects. I started it at 16, being closely monitored because of my family history of heart attacks, strokes, blood clots, etc. I started to have some bad side effects that were symptoms to developing a clot and other problems so my doctor told me to stop taking it. I did & those issues that I was having started to stop. My doctor told me that it’s probably for the best that I don’t take it because of these things.
