Is it disrespectful for you mother-n-law to still communicate with your spouses ex? No kids involved

My mother in law still communicates with my husbands ex who cheated not once but twice and lied. they were only together for 4 month and her and my mother in law are friends in social media! This girl knows me and him are married yet continues to try and talk to my mother in law! They don’t have kids so why? Do I have a right to be pissed or feel disrespected????

No, you can’t tell her who she can and can’t communicate with. If they were “friends” she should still be able to remain in touch with her. But if she begins to drag your relationship into it, or tried to compare the two of you, then she’s in the wrong, BIG TIME.

No. Just because they had a shitty relationship doesn’t mean that his mom and her did. I was really close to my ex’s mom and I am married and her and I still talk. I’m also married with a child due next month. My relationship with her has nothing to do with my ex 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

It’s honestly none of your business who she talks to. If she brings her up when you’re around just politely say I really don’t care to hear or talk about her.

I understand it’s frustrating and can be upsetting but the reality of it is, “you won.” She is an ex for a reason. I’m married, and still friends with an ex I dated for 5 years, husband knows and is fine with it. On top of that, his sister and both his parents are still a big part of my life 11 years later. Don’t let it bother you, and continue to love your husband and keep a great relationship with your MIL. I know it’s hard at first but the more you let it bother you the more sour the relationship can become.

I go through this but my husbands and his ex have a child together. He isn't the biological father which we just found out a year ago she lied and told him he was. Nothing changed their relationship but the fact she lied about that is terrible. Anyway, the ex and my husbands mom literally text and tag each other on social media all the time. She swims in my mother in laws pool and even tried buying my mother in laws house from her (my husbands childhood home). Drives me absolutely nuts but it is what it is. I know how frustrating it can be.
