I am a teacher so it effects my school and principal tremendously, in fact he is changing my position next year so that things are easier for me. He has been very supportive. I think the sooner the better. Gives them time to prepare for your absence.

I told early bc my role requires a lot of time to prepare for me being out in terms of figuring out who is covering my work and providing training. 
I'm also in a management role so it's figuring out who is covering my direct reports while I'm out. 
I've had direct reports get pregnant too and I've told my staff to at least give us time to do cross training and stuff so were not scrambling while they are out and that if they aren't planning to come back after leave to at least give us the notice to get someone new in to do trainings and all. we usually try to include the person leaving in the interview process and all of that. 
every work environment is different. So you have to evaluate for yourself the best time to disclose but if you are planning to continue with your job after your leave, it's always best to give a decent amount of notice so arrangements can be planned well in advance of you going out.

My boss/company is super supportive and actually found out she’s due the day before me!

I told at 11 weeks because I was feeling sick, otherwise would have waited another week or two. My boss and whole team is extremely supportive, loving, and excited. Non- profit life is nice even if the pay isn't!

I told the week I found out due to 3 doctors appts in 5 days, due to a previous miscarriage which my work also knew about.

I had to tell my boss about week 7 (almost week 8) because I was in emergency for 4 hour because I started bleeding, thankfully it was a false alarm.
I wasn’t going to tell my boss till after my specialist doctor appointment that was at week 9 so I could give her more information. 
My boss wasn’t very nice or helpful with my first two pregnancy and when I lost both of them her attitude towards me wasn’t very nice or good for my state of mind. It didn’t help she accused me of being pregnant when I wasn’t or bullied me so much that I reported her to HR. 
My boss lost her first born and was not very comforting to me when I lost my first she actually said “I hope you have a Son next time so you don’t look at your daughter and think would our first daughter have been like our second” well my boss can eat her words because I’ve lost a daughter and a son now and you know what I’m going to be thinking now no thanks to my boss 😡.
I told my mum what my boss said and mum said “she should never have said that, she wouldn’t like someone saying that to one of her daughters”
I also had a argument with my bosses younger daughter (she in her 20’s) because she found out the same day my boss did and not by me (turned out she over heard her Mum on the phone at home talking to her 2IC), but started spreading rumours about me at work and I was told so when she came into my department to find a worker who had borrowed my ladder I called her over and let her have it and boy did I feel good afterwards. I said a lot but also said no matter what she is told by her Mum she can’t repeat anything that was said between her Mum and me because she wasn’t there for the conversation and I said if she continued saying stuff about me then I would start spreading rumours about her. This girl likes getting into everyone business but hates people getting into hers. She also spread rumours about me with my first two pregnancy and two other ladies who where pregnant at the same time as me with my first pregnancy.
