There is a clear coat you can apply to help provide some stability called Hard as Wraps by Sally Hansen. Also, you can massage some jojoba oil and vitamin e oil into the nails and cuticles for some extra nourishment. Don't allow the techs to use the electric files on your bare nails! In most states it's actually against state law! Using the electric file is a faster way for them, sure, but they should be applying thin acrylic rather than thinning the nail to avoid chunky nails. It can actually burn the nail bed, and in some cases permanently damage the nails.

Try vitamin e nail oil and don’t put any new nails on for a while. That helps my nails!
