Any nurses in here?!?!

I'm a nurse and I'm on my feet my entire shift. I'm trying my best to stay hydrated and take breaks but it's almost impossible  sometimes. this is my first pregnancy so I'm trying not to stress but again I'm a nurse and stress is part of the job. anyone  experience this in their busy work life?

Second pregnancy working 12 hour shifts as a Peds and peds oncology nurse. Work had to be one of the first to know about my pregnancy because of the chemo we administer. They are very understanding and accommodating. As for breaks, whenever I find downtime to even chart I pull up a chair and sit my happy butt down. Luckily my coworkers are nice enough to help me out if needed. With my first, I worked until I was put on bed rest at 35 weeks due to my blood pressure. I plan to work as long as I can with this pregnancy.

I'm an RN in a busy 36 bed NICU and I work full time 12 hour shifts. I'd say about half my shifts I don't get a break. It was the same way with my daughter and her pregnancy was fine. So far so good with this babe too. It's doable for sure.

I work PT in a cardiac cath lab as an RN. I keep my own water bottle nearby for a quick drive by swig whenever possible. As far as breaks, if I'm absolutely needing one in the future (still early on for me), I will simply tell them I need a minute.  They are really supportive so I hope you have a similar crew.  Make sure your boss knows.  You'll need them on your side.  Never put yourself in a situation that'll risk your baby, no matter what. I know we feel that obligation to do everything we can, but we have to genender ourselves first.  😊 Always ask for help when needed.  Don't be the hero (you're one anyway). 👩‍⚕️🤰💪 Know your limits and listen to your body.  I also have MS. I only worked 7 months with my first, but 9 with my second (left work Fri, water broke early Sunday, lol). Currently on #3, so we'll see how it goes.  Definitely get support socks if you don't have them.  A good bra and the support belt will be saviors later on.

I’m a nurse and work 12 hour shifts! I have a lot of pelvic pressure and pain after half of my shift! My main problem is all of the illnesses I’m exposed to 😫 I’ve had influenza from work along with other stuff and am exposed to chicken pox, shingles, hand foot mouth, parvovirus and the list goes on! :/
