I just got out of a 10 year relationship like that. It got to the point where he would roll his eyes if I started to tell him how I was feeling, because he said I could just stop feeling that way and get over it. It didn’t matter what it was, he wasn’t interested in how I felt, and there were some pretty big issues in there, business decisions and cheating... He would just say there is nothing he can do about how I feel so he doesn’t want to hear it.
There is a reason he is my ex now. Don’t let anyone shut you down, if he won’t communicate and listen to you then tell him it’s a deal breaker... trust me, it’s not worth it.

I had a relationship like this. To make a long story short, I no longer have a relationship like this because I got out. That isn’t healthy. You need to feel like you can communicate in your relationship, and if you can’t, you need to first express that (knowing that it will lead to an argument, but at least making the attempt to talk it out), and then leave if they aren’t willing to work with you on it.
