my first I started at 4 months but they r changing it now saying wait till 6 months

6 months, their tummy and bodies aren't ready for it before then

with my little sister my mum started giving her tastes of puréed food like carrots or strawberries just after 4 months but didn't start weaning her till 5 months and by 6 months she was eating solids with a milk bottle in the morning and at night 
that's what I plan to do with my LO due in January x

Our doctor told us as early as 4 months but we kept reading about waiting until 6. We actually ended up starting around 5 months because she wanted to grab whatever we were eating so we took that as a sign that she wants to try new foods. It’s worked out great so far!

Got the okay at 4 months, but waited until 6 months as recommended by the AAP. That's not a new guideline. It's always been really important to wait until at least 6 months. There are zero benefits to starting sooner than that. Only risks.

Our LO showed interest at 3.5 month, we occasionally let her have tastes and she never had an issue. Talk with your pediatrician.
