menstrual cup and STIS?

The beginning of April I was diagnosed with chlamydia and gonorrhea. The period right before I used my menstrual cup.  I haven't used it since then I alway boil it before I use it.. is it possible to recatch the STIS?

I read online you need to get a new cup if you used it when you had an infection. Im not sure if its safe or not but I personally wouldn’t have it in me to risk it and would get a new one.

I just read that somethings aren’t proven to completely be removed with boiling, like certain strains of yeast. I can’t find anything that specifically says whether STIs fall into that category though. 
After reading that, I’d probably get a new one to be safe.
