How does your doctor know to prescribe progesterone when taking clomid? Blood work?

I have a history of m/c so I think that’s what made her prescribe it for me. It wasn’t because of any blood work results..

Mine gave me progesterone because I have a slightly thin lining, also to try and combat miscarriage down the road. All my bloodwork came back normal.

I had blood work testing everything before even going on Femara and my dr recommended it bc mine came back slightly low but also bc of my short luteal phase.
