should i take my BC pill the day my period atarts?

(yeah ik I posted this last night, but I'm assuming because it was like at midnight, my time, no one really saw it.)

I am on the combo pill Estracip, and I read that for combo pills in general that you can take them within the first five days of starting your period to be protected right away. I am just not sure if I want to take mine the day I start or if I should wait until I am on my second day to start my new pack(pk. 3).

part of me, just to exclude the uncertainty just wants to grit my teeth and take it after my period(4-5 days later) and wait the seven days until I'm safe, but my boyfriend and I start our summer courses and won't be able to fool around much :(
