Why would you brush your teeth just to get them dirty again with eating? I drink juice with my breakfast and cannot stand the thought of just leaving all that sugar in my mouth rotting my teeth until I brush them again. Gotta brush my teeth right after I eat. 
Besides, when you eat after you brush, your food tastes funny. I always thought it was a no brainer to brush after you eat.

I do it before since you're supposed to wait like 30 mins after eating to brush your teeth, and I simply can't function without clean teeth for that long.

I brush whenever my mouth feels unclean, it tastes funny to me, or I am about to go out. So with that said, each morning when I wake up, anytime I eat something that leaves a weird after taste, sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night, before my hubby and I go out, and then I carry around a bag of swisper thingies (the tiny Colgate toothbrushes).
