How to let go?

How do you allow yourself to fall in love when you keep getting broken hearted? How can you trust another person after being betrayed after putting so much love and effort into a relationship?

there's no surefire way you won't. in all honesty you just have to go, find a good guy, and hope it works out. to be emotionally strong is one thing, but to be open is another. sadly I fall into the emotionless group so I cannot help you. I think that finding love is a mixture of trial and error, luck of finding a good guy, but also trusting your instincts if something feels amiss. keeping up a relationship is reliant upon being able to work through those problems. but being strong is knowing when to leave even though you're attached.

Self love honestly. Understand that the betrayal you experienced was not your fault. Love yourself enough to know you did everything you were supposed to and you will attract someone better who will appreciate you.

Work on becoming more fearless. If you’re not afraid of getting hurt, then it will be easy for you to drop your guard and let love in. But if you think getting hurt is the worst thing in the world and that you can’t survive it, then you’ll have a lot of problems and you won’t drop your guard and fully let love in. But remember, you’ve been hurt before and you didn’t die! You survived! You deserve to be loved. You deserve to give yourself the chance. Without taking risks, you can’t find love. You just have to start thinking of relationships as assignments and lessons, not the end of the world. If they don’t work out, it’s just simply because it is not the person who was meant for you. Yes it will hurt, but you will heal and the pain will pass. Not everyone is out to hurt you. There will be a person out there who really wants nothing more than to love you and will make you feel safe and you will have no problem trusting that person. But you cannot find that person or keep them if you cannot let go of the past, which has nothing to do with a new person. They did not hurt you. You have to give them a chance. It also helps to see a therapist.
