we have a 3 bedroom home. i have 2 boys, they will be 8 and 5 when this baby arrives. we had planned on getting bunk beds and moving the older boys together.  my oldest says he wants to share a room with the baby. has anyone had siblings so far apart in age share a room? the baby would stay in our room until they were sleeping all night.

I don’t think it’s weird so much as impractical. Your 8 year old is adorably sweet if he genuinely wants to share with baby, but when he’s 10, how will he feel about having a toddler in his room and messing with his stuff? Is it possible he wants baby to share because your 5 year old is a real living breathing potential roommate and baby is just hypothetical at this point?

my new baby will be in with my oldest. He asked to share with the baby and we just found out that it's a boy. I have a 3 yr old and 18month daughter that currently share. so we will have a girls room and a boys room and age gap be darned.

my sister has a 6 month old that he adores. i think the baby stage would be fine with them sharing but you are right about as they get older. im thinking right now of just making a corner of our room the nursery and leaving them as is. its tough!

My youngest is 8 and wants the baby to share with him! My eldest who is 12 refuses to share! Hopefully the little one won’t change his mind once the baby is here! Hahahahaha
