So I only admit I was bi in my early twenties. People always teased that they thought I was, I railed back and denied it—yada yada. Anywho, I realized just recently (upon reconnecting with her,) that my high school best friend was actually a massive crush. WHAT? I wish, more than anything, I had made a move on her. I honestly don’t know if she’s bi or not (she’ll make out with anyone tho,) but she certainly wasn’t homophobic or anything. Worst that woulda happened was “oh, sorry I’m not into you like that.”
We’re both happily married now, but I’m gonna be honest, I still wonder what it would have been like to date her, and I’m sad I missed my chance.

OMG I have the exact same problem! I know it’s a hard situation. So here’s what you can do: 
If she doesn’t know your sexuality then first come out to her. (If you are comfortable with coming out). If she responds happily then ask her out! But if she responds normally (like “oh okay”) or weirdly then don’t ask her.  But if you really can’t stay fangirling then just say that you like her and don’t want this to ruin your friendship. If she is okay with it then move on but if she stops hanging out with you then she wasn’t a best friend after all.
