Lists & classes?

Question

Many of my friends say they either didn't take the classes or need them. Whether it be for lamaze or pushing,...
Also I'm starting a list of things that I need. 1st time parents tend to buy all the bells & whistles,... which are NOT needed. I want to avoid all of that. Anyone have a list or insight on any of this?

Search youtube for minimalist baby needs and you can start from there. A mist for me is muslin swaddling blankets bc they are so multipurpose (burping, covering up for breastfeeding, swaddling, etc), a good baby carrier ( a wrap like the mobywrap in bamboo and an ergo baby or similar), didnt need a stroller much so I wouldnt get one just yet and when you do, get a double stroller if you are planning to have more than one babe. The breastfriend pillow instead of the boppy bc it offers much more support if you will be breastfeeding, a pack n play was enough for the first 6 months so no rush on that. Hope this helps a bit!

I’m doing a classes i pick the one on a Sunday it runs all day then I have have a appointment the next day. We live 4 hour away so getting it done in a day it better for us and we stay at my parents house with every appointment.
The class at my Hospital also gives us a tour of the birthing ward and the midwifery (after both ward). 
With the list I have the essentials furniture wise and some cloths. 
Cot, mattress (still have to buy), change table, set of draws, bouncer, pram, 2x sets of sheets (I know will need more), nappies (I’m using reusable ones), blankets, some new born cloths boy and girls (we have lost one of each so cloths are what we bought them)
Still have to buy the car seat but not sure what one to pick might need my SIL help or mums.

As it relates to classes, my husband and I watched the online videos from baby center. 
For list of things to get, best thing to do is go off a checklist you can find on the internet.. target has a good one just sign up for a baby registry and it gives you a list of what you should get. There are so many things it’s too hard to list. I recommend video monitor so you can see baby in the nursery over just the audio ones, it’s worth the extra money. A boppy pillow is great for feeding and just extra support when holding baby for a long time 
I can’t think of anything I would say you don’t need except wipe warmers, unless you live in like Alaska lol. Also breast pumps should be covered by insurance so call your insurance company up and find out how you get your free one.
