Jaundice at 3 weeks? With levels getting higher

Question

So my LO is 23 days, and has been getting checked for jaundice, he wasn’t showing any signs while at hospital. However now his level is belliruban total is at a 15, and another level is in good range between .5. 
I just got the call to take him off breastmilk for 24 hrs to see if it’s breastmilk jaundice. Has anyone had anything like this happen? 
I’m just a worried first time mom.

Both my kids had jaundice. The second almost went into NICU over it. What we did was supplement with formula after he ate. The point was to get him to pee and poop as much as possible. It resolved on his own and we’re still breastfeeding. By a week-week and a half his level was fine but still looked jaundiced. His coloring is now normal at 3 months. Follow what the doctors are saying but I’d ask if it’s possible to keep breastfeeding once his levels are fine. In that case you can pump and store that milk until he can drink from your breast.
