Macrobid?

I have a uti, and have been prescribed Macrobid. I’m currently 6 weeks pregnant. Has anyone used this antibiotic? How was your experience? I am pretty hesitant on putting antibiotics in my body, and read reviews on this one... it wasn’t pretty 😳 any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I used that one before I knew I was pregnant! Its low dose compared to what I usually take for UTIs but doc wanted to put me on that since we were actively ttc and it’s safe for pregnancy and low and behold I was about 3 weeks pregnant when I took it and didn’t know! I didn’t have any problems to be honest compared to other antibiotics. I’d rather take a low dose antibiotic for a few days then risk kidney issues which happened to me in the past because I didn’t think I needed antibiotics and didn’t take them and it was excruciating pain and hospital stays for that.

Ugh I was on that for like 4 months my last pregnancy because it wouldn’t kill my UTI. Within days of giving birth it was gone. It’s fine to take. Won’t hurt the baby.

I'm personally a fan of this antibiotic. It's the only one that can ever get rid of my UTIs. I can't remember if it interferes with birth control or not 🤷‍♀️ I know it upset my stomach some, but I'd rather have a little diarrhea than feel like I'm peeing fire lol

just got off of a 7 day dose. UTI gone and baby is perfect!

alka seltzer will cure the pain of a uti and the urgency if you dont want to take the antibiotics. But it has to be the old school tablets

It's worked wonders for me! If you dont get the infection cleared it could cause harm to your baby. I've had 2 uti's while being pregnant and my baby is fine. The infection will do more harm than the antibiotic.

Macrobid works well, just watch out for a yeast infection that could come after

I had BV at 14 weeks and was prescribed macrobid. It’s the only antibiotic that hasn’t really upset my stomach (although I was taking diclegis for morning sickness at the time). And I didn’t end up with a yeast infection like I do from every other antibiotic (seriously I have one now after taking clindamyicin for strep throat.) Everything looked great at my 20 week scan!
