how many of you have your baby or babies on a routine?

My husband seems to think babies don't need a routine. I just want to know how you ladies feel about routines. Thanks

My daughter created her own routines, so now that’s her schedule. It changes as she grows (less naps, slightly later bedtime, etc).

My daughter is almost 4 months old. We have a basic bedtime routine. Doesn't always mean that's when she will fall asleep lol but we stick to it anyways. Other than that not really. She sleeps when she's tired, she eats when she's hungry. I let her take the lead because she's so young. I can't really be like well it's 3pm so nap time whether you're tired or not. Hey I'm gonna need you to be hungry around 5 pm. That's the time that'll work best for me :D So nope. Not until she's a bit older. Around 1ish I'll start introducing a more set routine but I try to stay flexible. Just like I won't be hungry/tired/need to go potty at the same time every day. Can't expect it from an infant. I will say she sleeps about 5 to 7 hours solid a night now. She only wakes up maybe once or twice for a night feed and that's been so freaking nice.

We have a routine, but it's not a strict schedule. It changes depending on what our plans are for the day, whether she's sick or teething. I try to schedule outings during the day rather than night. I try to make sure she gets her naps in during the day and try to keep her bedtime around the same time each night. But life also happens and sometimes the usual routine goes out the window

We have a very loose routine. My LO naps around the same time everyday and always eats as soon as she wakes up. Her bedtime is around the same time every day (give or take 30 Min). But she kind of put herself in this routine and we just stuck with it. 
I will say that having a little structure definitely helped her sleep better at night and she now sleeps from 7-7. 
She’s 7 months old now and has been on this routine since 4 months. 
Things have changed slightly as she’s gotten older (she started with three naps a day and now just takes two). 
Every family is different and what works for one family may not work for another.
Just find what you like and go for it 😊

My baby was in NICU and they got him on a schedule. We just kept that schedule when he came home.

yes but i think for me it was more for my benefit. i had twins and if they had been on seperate schedules i wouldve never slept

I have a routine as best I can.
It’s a little hard because he doesn’t go to an actual daycare, my aunt and Grandma watch him while I’m at work. So, his naps are crazy because they also watch my cousins daughter and she only takes one nap a day, if any. So he can’t nap properly because she’s a very loud little girl and it’s not a very big house. So some night he wants to nap at 6pm when we get home. 
But he has a pretty general routine besides the naps. I wake him up (if he’s not already awake) at about 6:45. Feed him and get him ready, we leave about 7:30. They do their thing throughout the day, pick him up about 5:30, he usually naps in the car until we get home. Feed him at 6:30ish, bath at 6:45-7ish(or play time). Lotion, jammies, bedtime story, and some more playtime until he gets sleepy. He usually isn’t ready to sleep until 8:15-8:30ish then he’ll sleep until 4-5am, wake up for a quick bottle & diaper change, then right back to sleep.

Yes and no. We eat around the same time each day. Not at a specific time. She goes to bed around the same time each night. Give or take 30 minutes. Baths are not on a routine. They are as needed. 
I tried the whole "feeding routine." It just didn't work for me. She's not always hungry at the same time each day. She tells me when she's hungry. She comes up to me, taps me with her hand twice, then puts her hand to her mouth. Otherwise, she eats whenever I eat. She eats 3 times a day, with 2 snacks. Just not on schedule.
