Is spanking abusive if bruising is left?

I want to know everyone’s opinions, if bruising is left on a child from a hand/belt after spanking is it abuse?

You shouldn’t be able to see a bruise, that’s abuse. I little pat when they did something wrong is enough

Some people bruise easy. I use to get spankings and never bruised. They don’t even hurt tbh, they just scare you as a child to teach a lesson🤷‍♀️

I think spanking is good, but anything to the point of bruising is too much. My mom used to use a leather switch in me, and that hurt like hell, but even it only left red marks that would go away in a couple of hours. If you’re bruising that is WAY too much

The law says that that is child abuse. No opinion needed. It depends on what state you live in but all of them say you cannot leave bruising welts lasting impressions on the skin. Doing that is deemed physical abuse on a child.

I got whooped. Not whipped. Whooped with a belt and I never bruised. It wasn’t abuse it was like a regular spanking just with a belt or shoe

If you beat your child with a belt hard enough to leave a bruise it's abuse. If a stranger hit you hard enough to bruise then you could take them to court for assault and I don't see how it could be any different for your child.

First off spanking is not abuse and second some people bruise easily. If you choose the spank your child which there is nothing wrong with you should never do it to the point where it will leave marks.
