So my MIL told us that she won’t come to the wedding if the current wife of my SO dad goes.

They divorced more than 10 years ago but she hates him. I am in good terms with all of them, I love both of my SO parents and their spouses. MIL also is currently married.

I was offended by her request. To me the wedding of your child should be more important than any resentment. But she is very controlling and jealous (she gets “sad” if we spend more time with step mom than her for example).

My SO doesn’t want to argue with her so he doesn’t say anything. I don’t know what to do, I don’t want to have a bad relationship with my MIL but I don’t want anyone trying to control my wedding or my decisions.
