Not sure when to make a doctor appt.?

I’m 7 weeks pregnant. I’m nervous to go to the doctors because I get high anxiety and also I’ve had 2 previous miscarriages. I just don’t want to go and hear some bad news. I feel fine and have gotten many many positive pregnancy tests, so I’m pretty sure I’m pregnant. Seems like things are going well so far. Do you think it would be safe to wait another month before I see a doctor ?

Usually if you’ve had previous miscarriages they will wanna see you early on. My first appt for my current daughter was right at 7 weeks and I had an ultrasound and such. I had a missed MC at 16 weeks and a stillborn daughter before this so they wanted me to come in early and I was seen every other week and have been being seen weekly since 28 weeks.

call and they usually set an appointment for around 8/9w which includes an ultrasound it's good to call early because getting appointments can be tough at some offices

I scheduled mine for the 8 week mark for that very same reason. Unless something goes wrong and I have to go in sooner, but having to call and cancel my appointment last time and having to tell her why was very hard for me. I’d rather not have to go through that again. I also think I’m gonna get a fetal monitor to check the heartbeat, just for my own sanity. Lol

I called today and made one. It was hard but I did it! It’s for July 31st and I’ll get to see baby on an ultrasound . Really excited about seeing baby , just not excited for all the other exams. Thank you ladies for advice and support and for not being cruel.❤️

Prenatal care is vital. One reason for decreases in infant mortality and mother mortality is due to advances in medicine, specifically prenatal care. Don’t put off seeing your doctor. One important thing about going to see your doctor is for determining gestational age. Using ultrasounds to determine how far along you are, are only accurate early on. At a certain point in your pregnancy, babies start to develop and grow at an individual rate. But early on, there’s a standard growth rate that all healthy babies follow, for the most part. So please, see your doctor.

you need an ultrasound within the first trimester to get a dating scan, and not all hospitals do that on the first appointment. I'd schedule sooner rather than later.
