Is this teething?

My son is 17 months. Yes he has teethed before and he has smacked his ear before but the thing is. He just got ear tubes in on June 1. He just went to an apt follow up and they said they looked perfect. I know my son is teething but he keeps smacking his ear and tilting his head when he walks. Is this considered teething too ? His ears are fine, no discharge. Maybe it’s water in his ear? Idk. I gave him Zyrtec bc usually it helps if he has water in his ear. My pediatrician recommended it. And when I give him Motrin for teething, he seems to stop all symptoms so I can’t tell. Anyone familiar with this? My dr says it’s teething but I can’t help to just wonder just to be safe.
