My future MIL is horrible. I haven't advice on how to handle a nasty MIL besides just avoiding her as much as possible. Thankfully my fiance supports me in that and knows my choices like keeping our future kids away from her until they're vaccinated (she's anti-vax and will refuse to update her vaccines) is a good thing to do and that I can't be around her mess is because of my OCD. He's amazing. 
But my fiance's foster parents are amazing people and we get along really well with them. So that's a plus.

Mine is actually great. My mother in law is one of my best friends and I tell her almost everything lol. I see a lot of in law issues as the result of the “he’s my son” versus “he’s my husband” issue. And really I think both parties just need to realize that yeah they have some sort of relationship with him, but there are others who he has bonds with and it’s important for them all to be upheld. I think mother in laws will often have a strong personality and instead of getting to know and understand the personality, the wife wants to dominate it and it creates an issue. Maybe I’m overthinking it lol.

All of my in-laws are amazing and I love them. My MIL is a wonderful person and has always treated me like family, which means so much as my own mother passed away.
However, one of the biggest reasons I left my last relationship was that his mother was insane. She hated me and was incredibly jealous. She would text me things like “he is MY son and he will live me ME,” after we moved in together. She’d drive by my house to check and see who’s home. She would pull up in front of our house and call him 30+ times in a row until he left and stayed at her house for a night. Her ex left her 15 years ago for another woman and she’s never moved on. She basically uses her son as a replacement husband - to the point where it’s gross and people started spreading rumours that they were sleeping together. I feel sooooo fortunate that I have an amazing partner with an amazing family who loves me as much as I love them.

It’s crazy to me to see all these women saying they hate their MIL, bc personally I love my future MIL, we get along so well, she’s damn near my best friend, she lives with my fiancé and I and I have no problems with her at all. Everyone in the family always says I’m exactly like her when she was my age 😂
