STD talk?

So I recently was diagnosed with HSV1 I've never had an outbreak or symptoms of any kind and I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this also? I was freaked out because I don't know how long I've had it or anything and I'm trying to figure out how I should call and tell the people I've slept with that I have this.. if I have never had an outbreak of anykind and no symptoms should I call them or is it not a big deal.. I don't know what to do

think of it this way, as much as it will suck to have those conversations, if the roles were reversed, you'd want to know, right? I think you should tell them regardless if you've had an outbreak or not. some health departments also do an anonymous notification to partners, it sends them a very generic call about a previous known sexual partner has tested positive for STDs and they should get checked, they wont tell them it was you. worth looking in to. :)

HSV1 causes the common cold sore, which most people have come into contact with.. so unless you were specifically diagnosed with genital herpes type 1 then I don’t see the point in alerting people.. because like I said, most people have likely already come into contact with that virus orally at some point in their lives, typically in childhood. But if it helps ease your mind then that’s your call to make
