Is it okay to start your birth control pill whenever you want?

I want to be a Sunday start because I don't like having to relable the pack and want my period during the week not weekend. I also want to start it asap bc my period is so irregular I don't want to wait. any advice ?

I started my bc on the Sunday after my period had started days before. I have not had any spotting or any issues and this is month two that I’ve been back on bc after a few years of being off. I think when you start while your period is ok it keeps your body on track and doesn’t cause spotting.

my doctor told me to wait until after my period. if you have already had it then I would start it then on closest Sunday. I start my new pack tomorrow and my period usually starts the time each month. it will take A bit for your body to get use to it.

My doctor told me to always start the pill the Sunday after you end your period. So if you end your period on a Wednesday, start it 4 days later (Sunday)

You can’t control when you have your period. It just happens anytime during the placebo pills.
You can start whenever but if you didn’t just finish your period or are on your period, then you will just have to wait a month (a whole pack) until the pills are fully effective (don’t need to use other protection)
