How did you tell your older kids?

So I’m almost 40 and I have 3 kids from my previous marriage; ages 18, 14, and 9. The two youngest are boys and my 14 yr old son has made it very clear he’s not on board with another sibling. Has anyone here experienced this and how did you announce your pregnancy to your kiddos!??

I am in the same situation, just give him some extra attention and love, once the baby gets here he will be inlove.

I’m 40 and have 3 boys from previous marriage 16, 13, 11. I have a 16 month old and just got a positive test on pregnancy #5. When I was prego with my 16 month old, my oldest had no interest. Other two asked some questions, liked seeing the kicks and movements but really didn’t care. When that baby showed up, they all fell in love. Now they are awesome big brothers and laugh, read, and play with him. I think it was hard for them to realize during my pregnancy what it really meant until that baby got here.

My oldest is a 12 year old girl and she was against it. I had told all 3 of mine her plus 2 boys ages 11 and 9. I had told them I want to have another so they had time to discuss it with me since I was doing it by IUI. I am 35 and 25 weeks along and she is totally ok with the idea now. She likes feeling the baby kick ...plus it’s a girl so she was extremely excited 🌸 Having her feel the kicks made it real for her. I think their age (teens) makes it weirder for them but your son should be fine once the little one arrives and you get him involved.
