Who’s in the wrong?

For those that don’t know, Elon Musk & Vern Unsworth, one of the divers in the cave rescue last week, are in a stupid, petty feud.
Elon Musk was asked to build something to help with the rescue. He built it at his own expense, within a few days, and had it at the cave by Tuesday last week. He even went to the cave to see what the conditions were like.
Musk’s submarine was rejected, but he left it there in case of future emergency. Some of the rescue operators called it a “PR stunt”. Some claimed he was never asked to do so. Musk tweeted his correspondence between himself and Richard Stanton, where he was encouraged to continue building the submarine.
Over the weekend, Vern Unsworth said “Musk can stick his submarine where it hurts”.
In retaliation, Elon Musk called him “pedo guy”.
Who do you believe is wrong, Vern or Elon? Are they both wrong?

They’re both wrong, but I do think Musk tried to make shit about himself in a gross way. It’s not the first time he’s done that either.

I really don’t think Elon Musk did anything wrong initially, I think it’s very weird that people are so quick to say it was just PR.

It’s pretty important to ask what kind of help someone needs, as opposed to telling them what they need. Unless you’re an expert. It’s never wrong to decline help...graciously. And if I had gone out of my way to offer help, and someone was a smart ass about it, I may not be gracious either. 
In the end, you’re damned if you do. You’re damned if you don’t. This reminds me of Oprah giving away cars. After people were in an uproar bc they had to pay taxes on it. Seriously? You just got handed a car 🤷🏻‍♀️ We expect “rich people” to give, them act like we’re too good? They have it, so they should help? When they do, we criticize? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Musk for calling him a pedo guy and by that other guy is more wrong Musk didn’t have to make something along with making it at his own expense he left it there Incase they needed it and he didn’t have to

Vern said something obnoxious and Elon responded by (bizarrely) calling Vern a pedophile. While both are shitty, one of those things is obviously shittier to me.

Elon Musk is very giving and thoughtful. Always has been. This was not a publicity stunt. The guy is in the news ALL OF THE TIME

I don’t think we know the whole story, so how can we say?
Elon could’ve been the bigger person by not steeping low and calling him a “pedo guy”. He needs to focus on stopping his self-driving vehicles from killing people.

I feel like whether it was a PR stunt or not, he still did it and still offered help and that is what matters. I think it is quite disrespectful to turn around and tell someone to shove it when they just offered their help.

What Elon musk did was gracious and out of his own heart. His submarine can now be used in other rescue situations. He contributed.
They both were wrong for throwing petty jabs, but criticizing him for helping out is just unnecessary. It’s jarring how people can take a situation like this and make it negative.
