Three months ago I packed up my bags and left the state I grew up in (minus a few months in a different country and a different state for a year as a baby) and decided to quit my job for my family to become a stay at home caregiver for my grandmother and to finish out my degree. Before leaving Maryland I was super skinny, had gone through a terrible breakup involving court dates, had been raped and worked overnight and got no sleep. Needless to say I’ve gained weight moving south to Alabama, but I’ve gained so much confidence as well. I feel great and happy in my own skin for once in my 24 years of life.
