Am I okay??

Okay so I’m 13 and got my first period in late December. It lasted like a week being very light on the last couple days.  Then I got my next one in late March, again it lasted for about a week, being very light on the last couple days.  It’s middle july now and I still haven’t gotten it.  What’s wrong with me and am I okay??

when your periods first start they can take time to fully regulate. it may be worth checking into. Ask your mom or doctor what could be causing it. are you having sex? if so it could be pregnancy. make sure you check it out. you could need birth control to get them regular.

I’m fairly sure you are ok and this is just your body adjusting to changes and hormones. Not everyone regulates right away which can be very frustrating. Does your mom know you’ve started? I don’t necessarily think an exam is needed but maybe she can put in a call to her own gynecologist or your pediatrician and see what they recommend.

A menstrual cycle is counted from the first day of bleeding in one month to the first day of bleeding in the next month. The average menstrual cycle is about 28 days, but cycles that are 21–45 days also are normal. It may take 6 years or more after your period starts for your cycle to get regular.

Many women have irregular periods in their teens. By the time you’re 21 they should be pretty regular. After then is when you should worry that they’re not regular :)

I was the exact same way when I first started my period. I started taking birth control to regulate it, and I went and had an exam just to make sure everything was going okay. Xx

this is normal, i was like that when my period first started for about two years before my periods started to somewhat regulate, however they still weren’t completely regulated so i started birth control pills to help regulate them! this is totally normal
