Cloth Diapers?

Question

For experienced mama’s out there; what are your thoughts on cloth diapers? As a soon to be first time Mom... I figured now is the time to try since I wouldnt know the difference... but would like to hear some experiences first hand. 
Q: How to they handle “explosions”?
Q: What if your out somewhere and CANT just throw them in the wash? 
Q: Do the pros outweigh the cons?

We have clothed our little since she was 5 weeks. She is now 18 months. This time I’ll try right from birth but found it hard to get a good fit when she was new as she was just 6.5 lbs!! The only times we use disposables is when we’re camping or if she has a diarrhea bug ! 
Check out fluff love and CD science online or on fb! So much info about wash routines, the right soap and how to use your specific wash machine! That site has saved me ! We’ve never had an issue with smell or irritation!  
Exclusively breast fed babies can have their poos thrown right in the wash as it’s water soluble but once you start solids you have to clean it off. It’s hard while the transition to solids as it’s “mucky” but then eventually goes to “ploppable” we have a diaper sprayer to spray off the poo which helps!  
And when we’re out we have wet bags so it all goes in there until we’re home and I can take care of it!

haha I'm probably not a good cloth diaper advocate. we use disposables for everything but swim diapers. Up until yesterday I've had zero complaints. But then my son had a very wet poop. the pool didn't help haha. But it did manage to hold most of the poo, his swimsuit was a little soiled though. But I learned a lesson! always have something to hold the nasty reusable diaper when you're out and about.
