Do you fix your working dogs?

Question

My husband and I keep hunting dogs and we don’t fix them because it messes with their prey drive. We also have been paid for stud service for a few of our best hounds. We keep them all indoors but separate our (one) female during her heat (no intent to breed her). Our vet keeps pressing though.

I don’t see the need to since you have valid reasons and are being responsible when your female is in heat. Most people will not fox working dogs because it does mess up their working drive, I’ve never seen a working dog fixed unless they weren’t working anymore

We ended up fixing our boy after I considered having a litter for a long time. I’m sad but I realized that it was irresponsible on my part because a.) we don’t have his papers or his pedigree and b.) I would literally end up with eleven dogs because if you try to tear me away from husky puppies there’s no way in hell.
But your dogs have working utility. So long as you breed responsibly (on your part and researching the bitches you stud to.) I see nothing wrong with it. So long as you’re not letting your boys run around town causing  trouble 😂

I dont have working dogs so I voted depends but being spayed has not affected my bostons prey drive. Or if it has I shudder to think what it was lol I would say you probably could without any problems but then you wouldn't be able to use them to stud so if its just your vet and no other good reason just keep on keeping on :)

since you soubd responsible then no. 
there are so  many dogs out there without homes, and so many people who just let their dogs go nuts on each other just so they can be like "awww look at the puppies" I want shake them. oops sorry I might go off on a large rant if I don't stop now 😂
